The Convent of Mercy was founded in the early seventeenth century, in an atmosphere of religious fervor that shook the town of Calasparra.

This Church is located in the historical center of the town of Calasparra, which can be accessed through the narrow, narrow streets of the city.

The convent began its decline following the French invasion that caused significant losses, completely burning the convent, the October 1, 1812.

In this century, and after that war was in ruins after the secularization and sold in 1849.

In the front right side of the church, particularly in the cruise right on the outside, there is another gateway into it. Above this door lies the image of Our Lady the Virgin of Hope in tiles, flanked by two lanterns, indicating that this is the gate of the Virgin. Tops the facing another window with round arch, as in the case of the facade to toe.

El Convento de la Merced fue fundado a principios del siglo XVII, en un ambiente de fervor religioso que sacudía al municipio de Calasparra.

Esta Iglesia se encuentra enclavada en el centro historico del municipio de Calasparra, al que se puede acceder por las estrechas y angostas calles de la ciudad.

Este convento inicio su declive tras la invasión francesa que le ocasionó pérdidas importantes, quemando totalmente el convento , el 1 de octubre de 1812.

En este mismo siglo y tras dicha guerra quedó en estado ruinoso tras la exclaustración y vendido en 1849.

En la fachada lateral derecha de la iglesia, concretamente en el crucero de la derecha por su parte exterior, existe otra puerta de acceso al interior de la misma. Encima de dicha puerta se sitúa la Imagen de Nuestra Señora la Virgen de la Esperanza en azulejería, flanqueada por dos farolillos, indicando que ésta es la puerta de la Virgen. Remata el paramento otro ventanal con arco de medio punto, como en el caso de la fachada a los pies.
