Вертлецкий, Владимир Евгеньевич

Вертелецкий Владимир Евгеньевич (р. 28 июля 1938, Ровно) — американский врач-генетик. Член Национальной медицинской академии Аргентины, почётный член НАНУ (2003), почётный доктор НаУКМА (2003).

Биография править

Учился на медицинском факультете Университета в Буэнос-Айресе (1955-1961). Имел врачебную практику в медицинских заведениях США.

Работал ассистентом профессора отдела педиатрии (1970-1972), в то же время — руководитель отдела медицинской генетики (1970-1974) Медицинского университета Южной Каролины (г. Чарлстон); с 1974 профессор, руководитель отдела медицинской генетики Университета Южной Алабамы (г. Мобил, оба — США).

С 1999 возглавляет Украинско-американскую программу предотвращения врождённых недостатков развития, на основе которой разработаны и внедрены в 2-х областях Украины реестры всех новорождённых и детей с врождёнными пороками развития. Создал компьютерную международную информационную систему по вопросам тератологии и наследственной патологии.

Научная деятельность править

Специалист в области тератологии и медицинской генетики. Разрабатывает принципы и подходы к профилактике врождённых пороков развития. Впервые провёл молекулярно-генетическое исследование больных с нейрофиброматозом. Создал систему мониторинга врождённых пороков развития в штате Алабама.
