Самуэль Боулз (англ. Samuel (Sam) Bowles; род. 1939[1] или 13 марта 1936[2], Нью-Хейвен, Коннектикут) — американский экономист, специалист по проблеме социального неравенства, представитель неомарксистской политэкономии. Доктор философии (1965), профессор[4]. Лауреат премии В. Леонтьева (2006). Clarivate Citation Laureate (2022).

Биография править
Сын политика и дипломата Честера Боулза.
Бакалавр (1960) Йельского университета; доктор философии (1965) Гарвардского университета. Один из основателей Йельского русского хора, в составе которого несколько раз посещал Советский Союз с выступлениями. Работал в Гарварде (1965—1974), Массачусетском университете (Амхёрст; 1974—2001). Был уволен из Гарварда после острой «дискуссии» преподавателей, несмотря на поддержку таких ученых, как Джон Кеннет Гэлбрейт, нобелевские лауреаты Василий Леонтьев и Кеннет Джозеф Эрроу[5]. В Массачусетский университет был приглашён в составе группы «радикальных преподавателей», включавшей также марксистов Стивена Резника и Ричарда Вольфа. Ныне занимается исследовательской деятельностью в Институте Санта-Фе (штат Нью-Мексико), преподаёт в Университете Сиены (Италия) и читает курсы по микроэкономике в Массачусетском университете.
Является членом Союза радикальной политической экономии, а также Сентябрьской группы «аналитического марксизма».
