Another type of plant in Turneraceae with a vernacular name is stripeseed, which is actually three different species of the genus ''Piriqueta'' - the pitted stripeseed (''P. cistoides''), the rigid stripeseed (''P. racemosa''), and the purple stripeseed (''P. viscosa'').
