On 30 October the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress passed a resolution banning 'evil cults (xiejiao) which act under the cover of religion, of qigong or other illicit forms', stipulating the persecution of cult leaders who 'organise mass demonstrations to disturb the public order and mislead the public, provoke deaths, rape women, swindle people for their money and their possessions, or commit other crimes of superstition and heresy'.5This resolution was designed to provide a legal basis for the repression of Falungong, but could also be used to shut down other qigong groups.

И в свою очередь отмечу, что в обоих случаях цитаты взяты вне контекста, что существенно искажает смысл.
