Джеймс Франк Макгра́т (англ. James Frank McGrath; род. 25 декабря 1972[1]) — британский религиовед и библеист, специалист по раннему христианству, мандеизму и религии в научной фантастике. Один из авторов «Энциклопедии Библии и её восприятия», «Оксфордской энциклопедии Библии и этики», «Оксфордского справочника по Библии и популярной культуре», «Справочника исследований мандеизма» и «Словаря по религиоведению».

Биография править

В 1993 году с отличием окончил Кембриджский университет по специальности «религиоведение»[3].

В 1995 году получил бакалавра богословия с отличием первой степени второго класса  (англ.) (рус. в Лондонском университете[3].

В 1998 году получил доктора философии в Даремском университете, защитив под научным руководством Джеймса Дугласа Гранта Данна диссертацию по теме «Иоаннова апологетическая христология: узаконивание и развитие в христологии Иоанна»[3][4].

В 1998–2001 годах — ассистент-профессор  (англ.) (рус. Нового Завета Иммануильского университета Орадя  (англ.) (рус. и Университета Орадя  (англ.) (рус.[3].

В 2001–2002 года — адъюнкт-профессор Библейской теологической семинарии  (англ.) (рус. и Теологической семинарии Христианско-миссионерского союза  (англ.) (рус.[3].

С 2002 года — профессор религии кафедры философии, религии и антиковедения[3][5] и с 2010 года — заведующий кафедрой новозаветного языка и литературы имени Кларенса Л. Гудвина Батлеровского университета[3][5][6].

Член Американской академии религии (с 2010), член Американского востоковедческого общества  (англ.) (рус. (с 2010), член Общества библейской литературы  (англ.) (рус. (с 1998) и член Общества новозаветных исследований  (англ.) (рус. (с 2011)[3].

Научная деятельность править

Основная исследовательская деятельность Макграта лежит в области христологии и истории раннего христианства, что отразилось как в его докторской диссертации, так и изданной на её основе одноимённой монографии. В монографии «Единственный истинный Бог: раннехристианский монотеизм в его иудейской плоскости» был представлен взгляд на более широкое пространство монотеизма и христологии в древнем иудаизме и христианстве. В то время как в монографии «Чему Иисус научился у женщин» была исследована тема исторической личности Иисуса Христа (в этом вопросе он является последовательным критиком мифологической школы) и влияния, которое на него оказывали женщины, упомянутые в Евангелиях[5].

Другим предметом исследований Макграта выступает гностическая община мандеистов и их литература. Совместно с религиоведом и востоковедом Чарльзом Хёберлем  (англ.) (рус. он подготовил двухтомник содержащий перевод, критическую редакцию и научный комментарий Мандеистской книги Иоанна  (англ.) (рус., ставший первым изданием на английском языке всех известных рукописей[5].

Ещё одной область научных интересов Макграта является пересечение религии и научной фантастики. По данной теме им написаны монографии «Теология и научная фантастика» и «Битва на Ранскур Ав Колосе» (Чёрный архив  (англ.) (рус. № 52). Кроме того, он является редактором и соредактором коллективных монографий «Религия и научная фантастика» и «Время и относительные измерения в вере: религия и Доктор Кто»[5].
