Galathea (род)
Galathea (лат.) — род неполнохвостых десятиногих ракообразных из семейства Galatheidae. Насчитывают 144 современных[1] и 10 ископаемых[2] видов из Атлантического, Индийского и Тихого океанов[1][3].

Описание править
Мелкие ракообразные, длина тела около 1 см. Окраска разнообразная, в том числе очень пёстрая и яркая. Рострум дорзовентрально сплющенный, треугольной формы с 4 (реже с 2 или 5) латеральными зубцами. Живут, как правило, на мелководье на глубинах менее 100 м. Отдельные виды встречаются глубже (более 500 м)[3][1].
