Наде́жда Бори́совна Кице́нко (англ. Nadiezhda B. Kizenko; род. 1961, Нью-Йорк, США) — американский историк, специалист по истории православия и религии в российской культуре.

Биография

Родилась в семье перемещённых лиц, прибывших в США из Германии после Второй мировой войны.

В 1982 году окончила Гарвардский университет со степенью A. B. (бакалавра искусств) magna cum laude по литературе и истории защитив под научным руководством Бет Хольмгрен работу по теме «Представления об монастыре Оптина пустынь в позднеимперской русской литературе и религиозно мысли» (англ. Representations of the Optina Pustyn’ Monastery in Late Imperial Russian Literature and Religious Thought). В 1991 году в Колумбийского университета получила степень M. A. (магистр искусств) защитив под научным руководством Леопольда Химсона работу по теме «Проблема преемственности в работах Сергея Эйзенштейна» (англ. The Problem of Continuity in the Works of Sergei Eisenstein). В 1995 году там же на историческом факультете получила степень Ph.D., защитив под научным руководством Ричарда Уортмана диссертацию по теме «Служение современного святого: Иоанн Кронштадтский и русский народ, 1855—1917» (англ. «The Making of a Modern Saint: Ioann of Kronstadt and the Russian People, 1855—1917»).

В 1984—1985 годах работала в редакции журнала Vogue.

В 1985—1986 годах работала в издательстве St. Martin's Press младшим редактором научных и справочных изданий.

В 1989—1992 годах — преподаватель русского языка и литературу на кафедры славянских языков и литератур Колумбийского университета.

В 1994—2000 годах — ассистент-профессор, в 2000—2016 годах — адъюнкт-профессором, с мая 2016 года — заведующая и с января 2017 года — профессор кафедры истории Колледжа искусств и наук Университета штата Нью-Йорк в Олбани, где преподаёт историю России, восточной Европы, и религии В 2000 году издала книгу «A Prodigal Saint: Father John of Kronstadt and the Russian People» и благодаря этому сочинению стала лауреатом Heldt Prize. В 2021 планируется выход монографии в издательстве Оксфордского университета об истории исповеди в Российской Империи. Научная работа Куценко поддерживается грантами и стипендиями, включая студенческую стипендию Конгресса русских американцев. Помимо английского, владеет русским, церковнославянским, украинским, белорусским, французским, итальянским и немецким языками.

Преподавала русскую историю в Свято-Троицкой духовной семинарии в Джорданвилле до 2005 г.

Проживает в США и Германии.
